Rise of the First Order

“You can’t be so stupid as to think this will be easy. My troops will storm this block and kill you all.”
Captain Phasma, Star Wars: The Force Awakens

A costly armistice was signed with the New Republic, reducing the once mighty Empire to a disband which caused it to break into various splinter remnants hemmed in by disarmament treaties and war reparations. However, some point later, one of these remnants rejected the status quo and departed for the Unknown Regions, where these neo-Imperial elements, become the First Order.

The First Order was the military autocracy centered in the Unknown Regions that emerged from the collapse of the Galactic Empire. Established by former Imperial officers, nobles, warlords and technologists castaways, it rejected the authority of the New Republic, the reigning galactic government that rose to power through rebellion, the First Order took steps to gradually reclaim lost Imperial legacy and the galaxy, building new fleets and armies in defiance of the Galactic Concordance under Supreme Leader Snoke.

Within this Community Core Set, you’ll find units that will form the cornerstone of your First Order armies, including Captain Phasma ready to command her troops into battle. Following her are fourteen loyal First Order Stormtroopers -enough for two full corps units- and the sinister Supreme Leader’s apprentice, Kylo Ren.

Let’s take a closer look at the units included in this Community First Order Core Set for Star Wars: Legion!

Ruthless Leader

Clad in distinctive armor of salvaged chromium, Captain Phasma commands the First Order’s legions of stormtroopers. A tough veteran commander, she has no use for fancy titles or complex war rooms, preferring to lead her troops in battle against the First Order’s enemies.

Phasma is equipped with a personalized F-11D Blaster Rifle, perfect for taking down resistance scum that may be attempting to hide. Her armor is also not just for show, the chromium adds an extra protective layer on top of the already sturdy stormtrooper armor making Phasma a tough opponent to take down. Being a talented leader, Phasma is able to compel her troops to think quick in stressful situations, and inspire them for doing a job well done.

It doesn’t end there, Captain Phasma is not afraid to get up close and personal. For melee combat, she prefers her Quicksilver Baton, making her just as dangerous as she is with a blaster. If additional enemies needs to be eliminated, Phasma can rely on her personalized SE-44 Blaster Pistol for efficiency. This Captain is loyal to the First Order and will stop at nothing to take down the resistance. She does not tolerate traitors, and if she happens to stumble upon one, she will line up her disciplined troopers and say…”On my command”.

Trained at birth

The First Order’s infantry units wear stark white armor derived from that worn by the Republic’s clone troopers and the Empire’s stormtroopers. Members of this new generation of stormtroopers are trained from birth, growing up with unit designations instead of names and fed a steady diet of First Order propaganda to ensure absolute loyalty. Where the Empire opted for numbing routine, the First Order’s training simulations and live-fire drills encourage improvisation on the battlefield, making these stormtroopers more dangerous than their Imperial predecessors.

Armed with the F-11D Blaster Rifle, a direct upgrade from their imperial ancestor’s blasters, the First Order Stormtroopers are able to shoot more accurately. Members of this unit can include a First Order Flametrooper, and the rapid firing FWMB-10k unit. There are no troops in the galaxy as disciplined as the First Order Stormtroopers.

Fallen Apprentice

The son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, Ben Solo was seduced by the dark side of the Force and renamed himself Kylo Ren, becoming the First Order’s champion and Supreme Leader Snoke’s student.  Kylo has become obsessed finishing what his grandfather started, the extinction of all Jedi in the galaxy.

After forging his own deadly cross-guard lightsaber, Kylo Ren has set his sights on the last Jedi. The apprentice’s lightsaber is not his only deadly weapon. Kylo also possesses the power of Force Stasis, an ability of the Force to forcibly restrain and immobilize opponents or halt objects headed in a Force-user’s direction.

Rage and anger is something that considerably fuels Kylo Ren. As mentioned before with his obsession, Kylo wants to finish what Darth Vader started. To do this Kylo gains 2 surge tokens after he performs his first attack, he then may perform 1 additional attack with half his dice pool rounded up to finish off any survivor of his ferocious attack. When Supreme Leader Snoke found Kylo, he has never seen such raw untamed power before. Kylo Ren can tap into this power which allows him to recover and gain mastery of the force until the end of the round.

Interrogation is not an easy feat, many foes tend to be stubborn. This does not phase Kylo, for he has the power of Mind Probe, which allows him to gain the knowledge he seeks. The Mind Probe can be used on an opponent, granting you aim, dodge, or surge tokens equal to the number of pips on one of their remaining command cards.
